What's Your Status?

I don't think I've ever had anyone ask me, "What's your status?" I actually find the question a little odd. And weird. But it's actually something we do every day. Whether you write your status so everyone can see (Facebook, Twitter, BLOG, etc.) or you just think something in your head like: "not feeling pretty today," "I love life" or are reminded that your wife, daughter, friend duties are calling. You have a status. It's where you are in life; it's what you're feeling; it's what you're doing.

So this weekend at Frazer's Disciple Now retreat, we asked our youth: What's your Status? What's your Status - with God? What would God say about YOU? What do you say about Him?

My small group of girls totally rocked those questions. They were vulnerable. They were funny. They shared stories. They shared strengths and weaknesses. They praised God and shed tears. And what we came to is this: This life isn't about us. It's about glorifying God. The girls are all at different points in life but as a group, we all said we wanted God to take our life and let it be His. We want to be giving Christ our all. We want to walk in His truth and love Him passionately while spreading that joy and the Good News to others.

God certainly spoke to me. I know what He's wanting me to do, and it's been confirmed. We know one part of God's status towards us: Loving my children deeply. What's your status?

Some of my awesome 10th grade girls!

They love some hand signs...

Thank the Lord we had some strong girls in our group!
Late - late - late night. Therefore, looking like a ZOMBIE!
And a PRECIOUS freshman - Ivey!
Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, '"The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."

Love this one Lauren. I thought about the Casting Crowns song "Lifesong" while I read this. "Let my lifesong sing to you." That is really why we are here, after all.
