Mountain Adventure

What's an adventure to the Smoky Mountains without awesome friends?! We retreated to Gatlinburg, Tennessee this weekend. And yes, from Montgomery - it's an adventure! It was well worth the 8 hour drive! 8 adults, 1 two year old, 1 toddler and 1 nine month old = ONE PACKED, CRAZY-CABIN OF FUN! Thank you Hal and Jessica for inviting us! John (G-Local) is very much ready for Gatlinburg 2010!

We, of course, got great pictures! And a few sneaky videos too! Better beware my friends - my digital camera also records ...

The group after breakfast at the Pancake Pantry. A must for any Gatlinburg trip!

Great fall weather for fleece! At least that's what I thought ... John went with shorts.

We also ventured to a river-creek. Not sure what to call it - I just called it BEAUTIFUL! Can you imagine having a quiet time, here? Kenny broke away for a few minutes... rock-jumped into the middle of the creek-river and had a few of those moments.

We also had fun just hanging out at the cabin.

I'm so thankful for this time of year. I'm convinced this is one of God's favorite times of year! This is the time we can just simply give thanks. It's not about the presents or the elaborate decorations. Just giving thanks. And I'm so thankful for family and incredible, God-fearing friends!

"I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation" Psalms 118:21
